KinesicMouse live question
KinesicMouse live question
I currently use the previous version of kinesic mouse and I notice that when I am using it that in the task manager while it's running it utilizes a lot of the CPU. I've had it where due to that it causes the computer to run hot and causes the computer to freeze. Does this new version utilize less of the CPU?
Re: KinesicMouse live question
Hi,
yes the old version performs the facial recognition processing on the PC CPU. It is quite intense and can affect other programs in their performance.
The new KinesicMouse Live version does all that processing on the iPhone/iPad. The PC is under no noticeable load at all, as it receives all the tracking data via network. Since the heavy processing is done on the iOS device, these mobile devices run quite hot and draw battery power. If you already have a phone, I recommend to look for a used iPhone model (X or above with FaceID) and use it as a dedicated KinesicMouse sensor. Just leave it on the power cord, it is quite comparable to a 3D camera.
Best,
M
