Hi, I did this as an email but then saw the forums to try instead. How much eye movement can be detected by the Kinect mouse feature to use with a joystick? And is it reliable with wobbling of the head? I'm working on a project to use eye movement for control of a powerchair without using things like Tobii and eye track that use IR as they can't be used outside in direct sunlight.
Thanks
Eye movement with the Kinect
Re: Eye movement with the Kinect
Hi,
the KinesicMouse can pick up eye movement, but it is not as accurate as you would expect from an eye tracking device. It is possible to distinguish the directions, but not the exact gaze position. With the current camera technology direct sunlight also has a bad influence on the tracking quality of the KinesicMouse.
