What I'm absolutely unsure about is this:
What exactly do I need to have in order to use KinesicMouse 2?
A XBox One compatible Kinekt
An adaptor for Windows
Are there model numbers or other specifications I have to look for?
Where can I get the Intel camera you have been talking about? Are there webcams with these features? I haven't been able to find cameras and the Intel website only lists notebooks. Can you please point me into the right direction?
KinesicMouse2 hardware requirements?
Re: KinesicMouse2 hardware requirements?
Hi,
certainly, the required hardware is a little confusing as there are quite some options now.
So to avoid any confusion, the KinesicMouse is currently in the version 3.x and supports two different camera models:
1. Microsoft Kinect for Xbox ONE
2. Intel RealSense
For the differences between these two see my other posting.
If you plan on using the Kinect you need to actually order two items called:
- "Xbox One Kinect Sensor"
- "Kinect Adapter for Windows"
Here are the links to the german amazon shop:
Xbox One Kinect Sensor + Dance Central
Kinect Adapter for Windows
If you want to use the external Intel RealSense camera you can currently only order it directly from Intel.
You can place your order here: order Intel RealSense 3D sensor
WARNING: I do not know the return policy of the RealSense camera, so it might not be easily possible to return it after trying. Additionally there are some taxes and shipping costs involved if you order this camera from the EU.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Markus

Re: KinesicMouse2 hardware requirements?
Hi will KinesicMouse support hand gesture to control mouse ?
Re: KinesicMouse2 hardware requirements?
Hi kamithekira,
this is currently not planned for the KinesicMouse. Still I would be interested why you would need such a feature? How would it help controlling a computer?
Let me know, maybe there is something I can quickly throw together,
Best,
Markus
