KinesicMouse for Orbbec Astra - BETA Release

Post by Xcessity »

Hi,

I am happy to announce that the KinesicMouse now supports the all new Orbbec Astra 3D cameras. This camera works with USB 2.0 and is therefore compatible with Windows 7, 8 & 10. Please note that the Orbbec release is still in early BETA.

Currently it is necessary to manually align the depth and color frames. Please watch this tutorial video before.

Get the Orbbec BETA on: http://kinesicmouse.com/demo_download.php

More information on the Orbbec sensors can be found on http://orbbec3d.com.

Best,
Markus

Hi,

the Orbbec model I currently own works perfectly with IRIS. I will soon get the Astra S and Pro models that I can test with. I will let you know the results.

How does it work compared to Intel's real sense and Kinect?

@Orionlight: no the KinesicMouse cannot be run with an Orbbec Persee model. The CPU power would be way to low to achieve good results. Additionally the KinesicMouse can only run on Windows OS.
