Re: Project Iris with Playstation or Xbox
As a disclaimer, I do all of my gaming on my PC. But I do do a lot of work to customize input schemes, use multiple adaptive input devices at the same time, make things work with emulators, etc. so I do have some understanding of the sort of issues you would run into trying to do this. I think the s...

How are Project Iris initiated keypresses different from other software generated keypresses?
I've got a kind of strange problem that I'm trying to debug. I'm going to list the technical questions (as best I can, at least) first. Then I'll put the context below that. I'm trying to understand how these keystrokes (generated by looking at an interactor) are appearing to the target application....

Re: Accuracy for use in a DAW?
Okay, l see what you are trying to do, now. Actually, I think hovering would be even harder than clicking. Eyes don't naturally stay still. And I do think you would have a problem with precision. Small targets are hard to hit reliably. And two hundred targets that change from use to use definitely d...

Re: Accuracy for use in a DAW?
I'm not 100% sure I know what you're trying to do. So, if I'm misunderstanding, please give me some feedback and I'm happy to try again. Disclaimer: I've never used Ableton Live. I have looked up some screenshots and videos, but my knowledge is quite limited. Having said that, I have been experiment...

Re: User Account Control?
Zathras: Yes, based on my experience with several different types of emulated input, including Autohotkey, I think UAC is almost certainly causing your problems. (In fact, I usually have it turned off because it is so bad at dealing with AT inputs. I only discovered this issue because I recently rei...

Re: User Account Control?
Thanks for the clarification. It is about what I had guessed, but it is good to know for sure. (I guess a letter to Microsoft is in order, since the fault very clearly lies with their decision not to allow assistive tech to work with UAC. Not that I really think it will change anything.) Anyway, tha...

User Account Control?
Can anyone provide an explanation of why Project Iris needs Windows UAC permission? And, more importantly, is there a way to whitelist it so that Windows will no longer treat it as untrusted? I'm experiencing problems trying to use other pieces of assistive technology to interact with the Project Ir...
